In 1990, JH Group acquired its first liquor store in Mthatha. This division soon grew to 24 retail and wholesale liquor stores throughout the Eastern Cape. 

Since 2006, the Group has been involved with various Spars, Superspars and Tops and presently trades the Protea Superspar and Tops in Queenstown, and Cofimvaba SuperSpar and Tops in Cofimvaba. Currently the Group is involved in a number of new projects, which will lead to substantial growth within the retail division.
